Created as part of Marcin Glod’s series for his Dior collaboration (C23008) and subsequent exhibition in central Vienna, Ladies Freestyle explores the contrast between the idealised world of luxury fashion and the raw, imperfect language of the artist’s own visual expression.

The elegant silhouettes of fashion, handbags and couture are reduced to spontaneous, almost childlike line drawings and placed within a loose, expressive field of colour. The deliberate lack of precision challenges the conventions of fashion illustration and the polished aesthetics associated with luxury branding.

Art historically, the work draws on the traditions of Neo-Pop, Art Brut and gestural drawing, using simplification and imperfection as deliberate artistic strategies. Glod transforms the codes of luxury into something immediate and human, creating a playful tension between perfection and spontaneity, brand identity and individual expression.
