Part of Glod’s 2022 Amsterdam series, this work explores one of four different states of life: Nightlife, Dance, Love and Enjoy. Combining Pop Art, popular culture and expressive gestures, the series reflects the energy, emotions and experiences of urban life.

Hey You represents the moment of encounter - the excitement of seeing someone for the first time and the possibility of something beginning. The urban setting, references to Amsterdam and the shared drink create the atmosphere of an unexpected meeting within the city.

The handwritten Hey You introduces a direct, almost cinematic quality, while the expressive colours and layered imagery transform an everyday encounter into a Pop Art narrative. The work captures the lightness, curiosity and optimism of the first moment of attraction.
