Part of Glod’s 2022 Amsterdam series, this work explores one of four different states of life: Nightlife, Dance, Love and Enjoy. Combining Pop Art, popular culture and expressive gestures, the series reflects the energy, emotions and experiences of urban life.

Bang explores the energetic and darker side of urban nightlife. Set against a dynamic, fragmented composition, the elegant figure of the rabbit becomes a symbol of nightlife, attraction and excess, while the revolver introduces an element of danger and unpredictability.

Glod combines Pop Art imagery with expressive painterly gestures, creating a tension between glamour and threat. The work reflects the duality of nightlife - a world of pleasure, freedom and excitement that can simultaneously carry an underlying sense of risk.
